The easiest of all inductions is asking your subject if he/she as ever been under hypnosis before and have him re-experience the trance state again. If he has, you ask him to recount in great detail the sequence of events that took place the last time he went into trance. Ask him for the exact appearance and configuration of the room in question, the sound of the hypnotist’s voice, and what the [tag-tec]hypnotist[/tag-tec] did to lead him into the profound state of hypnosis. You will notice that the subject will relive the experience for you as he describes it. It’s an example of an automatic [tag-tec]regression[/tag-tec]. In order for the subject to go back and get all the information in response to the questions you are asking, the subject will, then, reexperience the trance state.
If the subject rushes over the experience too quickly, and you are not getting a full response, you can either tell him to slow down or ask additional questions which require that he give you a more detailed and thorough description of the experience. You can ask the subject, “Were you seated just as you are now? If, not, would you show me how?” The body position which he last associated with the altered state of consciousness will help her overlap back to that [tag-tec]hypnosis[/tag-tec] experience.
“Were you in a room like this? No, the walls were white. Allow your eyes to close and form a mental image of the room you were in the last time you went…” You divorce the subject from his present state to give him more freedom to access all the information and reenter the trance state which was most effective for him in the past.
You can also incorporate other delivery techniques like embedded commands to your question to reinforce their power. “Well, was he leaning to his right or to his left when your eyes first began to close?”
This really is the easiest of all inductions. What you do is simply ask the subject to recall the last successful [tag-tec]trance induction[/tag-tec], and the sequence of events that took place. After the subject has entered that trance state, you simply utilize it.
